What I tell people when I recommend it is: let at least one Baricco enter your heart.
The pace of his writing, the tact, the comedy and the philosophy of his books makes you feel like you're on a roller coaster with every line. With light words he touches deep sides, always giving the sensation of holding your hand, as if to say "Let's go together, one step at a time". Of all the books I have read, of any genre, this was the one I highlighted the most, almost as if I wanted to engrave his words in my mind. The stories he tells are pure fantasy but the way he does it makes them more real than your own reflection in the mirror. This book talks about life, about individual moments of life, second by second. It's a collection of all those absurd thoughts that go around in your head and that in the end you say "it doesn't make any sense", here Baricco writes them all and creates works of art.
I mean it, let at least one Baricco enter your heart.
